A RE-eNVISIONEd coffee house for colectivo
Located in Milwaukee’s Third Ward is 203 N Broadway. This space is home to the new and improved Colectivo coffee shop. Colectivo is a Milwaukee based coffee chain which aims to deliver a great coffee experience, provide high quality local ingredients, and maintain a sense of community.
The purpose of this project is to re-brand Colectivo, while still embracing their roots and brand values. Within the re-design I chose to create a space that elevates the brand to a more high end cafe experience. This was achieved through the use of exclusive experiences other Colectivo locations do not have. Elements like a late night cafe offers a more intimate and elevated space since there are opportunities for alcoholic cafe drinks to be sold. Use of large light fixtures and a monochromatic material palette creates a unique environment day through night. Whether it’s working on homework during the day, or grabbing an espresso martini at night there will always be a little something for everyone.
BRAND IDENTITY
Colectivo is built on personal touches and good coffee. What makes their brand unique is the attention to detail in their spaces. In each location customers are surrounded by monsteras, antique fixtures, and rustic touches. The Colectivo redesign embraces those elements in a new way. Seating throughout the space use wood that almost resembles drift wood similarly to materials in existing shops. Pops of color are placed to emphasize graphic choices the brand consistently presents in their advertising. Monsteras are placed in charred wood planter boxes to match materiality throughout the space.
